Fresh water damage should be attended to within 48 hrs in order to control and maintain a healthy environment.
B. Grey water - Water that has been stagnant for approximately 48 hours. Contaminants are more consistent and create an unhealthy environment. Sources can be broken or frozen pipes, blocked drains or malfunctioning appliances. At this stage mildew and bacterial growth become more rapid and attention should become a priority to control property damage and health risk.
C. Black water - Raw sewage already contains micro organisms that are hazardous to human health. Exposure should be kept to a minimum. If contact is unavoidable, frequent washing is recommended.
